You're a Physician

You Worked Hard to Get Here

You Played by the Rules
Built a Career
And Kept Showing Up  - No Matter What

Now You're Working in a Job
That No Longer Works for You

Why?

Med School and Residency Prepared You for Everything

(Almost Everything)

You took a job.

Became an "valued employee."

And worked overtime to prove what a good doctor you are.

You did everything right.

You've been a great teamplayer.

But still.

They keep asking for more.

More Paperwork

More Regulations

More Patients per hour

Meanwhile,

You're stuck in a job that pays the bills,

Corporate Executives carelessly undermine your future,

Your slacker college roommate is a hedge fund billionaire,

And you can't get a Thursday afternoon off to save your life.

You didn't work this hard to hand over your freedom.

But what else is there?

I'm Ann Jones

I’m an anesthesiologist, entrepreneur, and MBA.

And like a lot of physicians, I was disillusioned early.

I was tired of being told to work harder, accept less, and shut up about how things should actually be done.

I thought about quitting, but I love being a doctor.

So I tried the usual fixes:

I cut back.
I changed jobs.
I even earned an MBA.

Helpful? Yes.

Game-changing?

Yeah. Not so much.

Here’s what I learned:

The system isn’t broken. Far from it.

It makes money (lots of it) for the people running hospitals and buying up practices.

It's a system that victimizes remarkable careers by trapping physicians, chipping away at our confidence, and encouraging us to play small.

I believe physicians deserve better.

I’ve been self-employed since 2003 and built my career on one belief:

Physicians should control their own careers.

For some of us, that means turning away from the false security of W2 employment and joining a growing group of physicians embracing self-employment careers.

There's a tremendous shift happening in medicine.

And it's more than just a business model.

It’s a Revolution.
